Cookware FAQs
Yes. Magnaware's current chef skillet listings state that the skillets are oven-safe up to 400°F (204°C).
Magnaware cookware works on common gas, electric and ceramic-glass cooktops. It is not designed for direct use on an induction cooktop.
No. Magnaware cast aluminum cookware does not need to be seasoned like traditional cast iron. Simply wash it by hand before first use, dry it thoroughly and you’re ready to cook.
The Magnaware cookware is NOT dishwasher safe, as the chemicals in automatic detergents and prolonged contact with hot water will cause a reaction that darkens and stains the metal. We recommend washing it by hand after every use in hot soapy water to keep it looking shiny and smooth. Ensure you let the cookware cool down before you wash it and never expose your hot pans or pots to cold water since this can cause thermal shock and warping.
Allow the cookware to cool, then hand wash it with warm water, mild dish soap and a soft sponge or cloth. Rinse and dry thoroughly before storing. Do not put hot cookware directly into cold water, as sudden temperature changes can contribute to warping.
Magnaware does not have a traditional non-stick coating. Sticking can often be reduced by using low-to-medium heat, allowing the pan to heat gradually, and adding an appropriate amount of cooking oil or fat before the food.
No, Magnaware does not contain Teflon (the brand name for the material associated with non-stick pans) or any other chemicals linked to it such as PFAS, PFOA, or PTFE. Our cookware is made from 100% cast aluminum.
