Cookware FAQs
Yes. Magnaware Dutch ovens are currently listed as oven-safe up to 450°F (232°C). When using a lid with a plastic knob, the maximum temperature is 350°F (177°C). For best results, use a preheated oven and never place the cookware in an oven during a self-cleaning cycle.
Magnaware cookware works on common gas, electric and ceramic-glass cooktops. It is not designed for direct use on an induction cooktop.
No. Magnaware cast aluminum cookware does not need to be seasoned like traditional cast iron. Simply wash it by hand before first use, dry it thoroughly and you’re ready to cook.
The Magnaware cookware is NOT dishwasher safe, as the chemicals in automatic detergents and prolonged contact with hot water will cause a reaction that darkens and stains the metal. We recommend washing it by hand after every use in hot soapy water to keep it looking shiny and smooth. Ensure you let the cookware cool down before you wash it and never expose your hot pans or pots to cold water since this can cause thermal shock and warping.
Allow the cookware to cool, then hand wash it with warm water, mild dish soap and a soft sponge or cloth. Rinse and dry thoroughly before storing. Do not put hot cookware directly into cold water, as sudden temperature changes can contribute to warping.
Magnaware Dutch ovens are made for the meals people gather around — gumbo, stews, roasts, braises, soups and slow-cooked family favorites. The oval shape is especially handy for larger cuts of meat and generous recipes.
